These Terms and Conditions apply to all guests who visit Kronendal 1717, make a booking, attend an event, purchase goods or services, or use our website. By entering the premises or engaging with Kronendal 1717 in any way, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Kronendal 1717 reserves the right to update, change, or replace these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will take effect as soon as they are published on our website or made available on request. If you continue to visit or use our services after changes are made, you are accepting the updated terms.

If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remainder will still apply.

RIGHT OF ADMISSION RESERVED

Kronendal 1717 reserves the right of admission and the right to refuse entry or service where it is reasonable and lawful to do so. This may include situations where a guest’s behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or harmful to staff, other guests, or the overall environment of the venue.

RESERVATIONS AND BOOKINGS

Kronendal 1717 operates primarily on a first come, first served basis unless a booking has been confirmed. A booking is only confirmed once acknowledged by management and, where applicable, once any required deposit has been received.

For group bookings and private events, additional conditions may apply, including minimum spend requirements, confirmation deadlines, and operational limits relating to space, seating, and service.

EVENT AND FUNCTION TERMS

Private events, venue bookings, and special functions may require a deposit or full prepayment, depending on the nature of the event. Event details such as start and end times, menu selection, guest numbers, and layout requirements must be agreed in advance.

Kronendal 1717 may restrict or refuse external suppliers, entertainment, décor installations, or equipment where this could pose a safety risk, cause damage, or interfere with operations. Noise levels must remain within applicable municipal guidelines.

PRICING AND PAYMENT

All prices are listed in South African Rand and include VAT unless otherwise stated. Prices, menu items, portion sizes, and availability may change without notice due to seasonal supply, operational requirements, or supplier constraints.

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. No food, beverage, or merchandise may leave the premises unless paid for in full.

CANCELLATIONS AND DEPOSITS

Deposits paid for private events or group bookings may be non refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Where a refund is considered, it will depend on the timing of the cancellation and any costs already committed by Kronendal 1717.

If Kronendal 1717 needs to cancel or amend a booking due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, reasonable notice will be provided where possible. Any deposit handling in such circumstances will be communicated by management.

GUEST CONDUCT

Guests are expected to behave respectfully toward staff and other patrons. Kronendal 1717 reserves the right to refuse service or remove any individual who:

• Engages in aggressive, abusive, or disruptive behaviour
• Appears intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances
• Fails to comply with reasonable instructions
• Endangers the safety of others

No refunds will be issued where removal is required due to misconduct.

ALCOHOL POLICY

Alcohol will not be served to persons under the legal drinking age. Kronendal 1717 supports responsible service and reserves the right to refuse the sale or service of alcohol at any time, including where a guest appears intoxicated or where continued service may create risk.

CHILDREN AND PETS

Children are welcome at Kronendal 1717 but must be supervised by a parent or responsible adult at all times. Guests remain responsible for the conduct and safety of children in their care.

Well behaved pets may be permitted in designated outdoor areas at management’s discretion. Pets must remain under control, and management may refuse entry or request removal of a pet if required for safety, hygiene, or guest comfort.

FOOD ALLERGIES AND DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Kronendal 1717 will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary preferences and allergen related requests when notified in advance. However, we cannot guarantee that any meal or drink is completely free of allergens due to shared equipment and preparation areas.

Guests are responsible for informing staff of allergies and dietary requirements before placing an order.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Guests may be held responsible for any damage to the premises, furniture, fixtures, décor, equipment, or other property belonging to Kronendal 1717, where such damage is caused by negligence, misconduct, or failure to follow staff instructions.

LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY

Guests enter and remain on the premises at their own risk. Kronendal 1717 is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

Kronendal 1717, its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for injury, loss, or damages unless caused by proven gross negligence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, guests agree to indemnify and hold Kronendal 1717 harmless from claims arising from their conduct, actions, or omissions while on the premises.

Kronendal 1717 will not be liable for delays, interruptions, cancellations, or service limitations caused by events beyond reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, load shedding, power failures, municipal disruptions, natural disasters, government restrictions, supplier interruptions, labour disputes, or emergencies.
