From January 2026, Overberg Steel will trade as Steel & Pipes for Africa Hermanus. This follows a long relationship between Overberg Steel and Steel & Pipes for Africa, and a personal friendship between John Immelman and Norman Louw that goes back to 1984.

John has chosen to start a new chapter, and has offered Steel & Pipes for Africa the chance to take the business forward. He will stay involved for the next few years to help with a smooth handover and to continue the personal service customers know.

For customers in Hermanus and the wider Overberg, this change brings the strength of a national steel supplier together with the service of a local branch. As Steel & Pipes for Africa Hermanus, the yard will have access to a wider range of steel products, better stock support and competitive pricing, while still keeping the same trusted, on the ground team in place.
