Olympus Sandton groundbreaking ceremony

 Growthpoint Properties and Tricolt marked the official groundbreaking of Olympus Sandton on Thursday 26 February 2026 as the development readies to rise above the familiar skyline at the very highest point of the Sandton Summit precinct atop South Africa’s cosmopolitan financial hub, Sandton Central.

Olympus will comprise 527 apartments across two sculptural towers, The Athena and The Apollo. Developed as a hospitality-led, mixed-use scheme, it will integrate high-end residences with a signature Marble Hospitality restaurant and sky bar, boutique hotel, resort-style leisure facilities, landscaped sky gardens and a street-level Pantry by Marble deli and coffee shop.

More than 85% of apartments have been sold since launching in February 2025, with sales exceeding R1.4 billion, reflecting strong demand for residential buildings in walkable mixed-use precincts like Growthpoint is deliberately creating at Sandton Summit, with its vision for shaping quality urban precincts where people can live, work and connect in one integrated area.

With earthworks well advanced and piling scheduled to commence in mid-March 2026 elevating Olympus as a symbol of fine living on the Sandton skyline.

Estienne de Klerk is a qualified Chartered Accountant with 25 years’ experience in the listed property sector. During the 25 years, he has been involved in various corporate action such as take-overs, mergers and acquisitions, transformation deals and capital raises. De Klerk started his career at Eskom Durban Distribution in a marketing role. In 2002, he joined the Investec Property Group’s property fund management business where he was appointed Fund Manager and Executive Director of Metboard. With 15 years of experience in real estate investment, five at the executive level, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his role.
