Neuro-based Teaching Methodologies

MiniChess by Kasparov is a structured, tablet-based programme that supports neuro-based learning through play. It links three-dimensional, hands-on activities with two-dimensional gameplay on an offline, pre-loaded tablet, helping learners build critical thinking, problem-solving and core STEM foundations. It is designed for use in environments with limited connectivity, and can be used without internet access (and in settings without electricity, provided the tablet is charged in advance).

Overview

The MiniChess by Kasparov mobile application links three-dimensional, concrete activities with abstract two-dimensional gameplay on a tablet. It offers 81 mini-games within a storyline experience for learners, delivered via an offline, pre-loaded tablet. It can be used in schools without electricity or internet access (if using the tablet, it must be charged in advance to ensure learners can play for as long as needed).

MiniChess by Kasparov has been endorsed by Garry Kasparov, the grandmaster himself.

Game Overview

Join Cheddar the Mouse, your cartoon teacher, on a fun journey of discovery as he meets new friends and explores the world of chess. Along the way, Cheddar solves engaging puzzles that teach the basics of chess for beginners and explain how to play.

This brave little mouse offers an ideal introduction for younger learners, and even children as young as five can enjoy learning with Cheddar. Each cognitive lesson is presented as a colourful cartoon mini-game that holds attention and makes learning feel natural.

The game suits boys and girls from age five. All hints from the mentor are voiced, so there is no need to read, learners simply learn the rules and play. Over time, Cheddar builds his skills and works towards becoming a true grandmaster, ready to play chess with the King himself. And who knows, Cheddar might introduce chess to the next Kasparov.
